A Post from the Hip…

[No editing on this one, folks.  Straight from the hip.  Let's see how it shakes out...]

I love a good paradox.  They are everywhere.  I think they are so prevalent and all around us that we barely even see them. (I think that’s a paradox if it’s true.)  I’ve been saying this one more and more lately:

Death is harder on the living.

As usual I have nothing to support my theory but my own experience and opinion…and hope.

What I hope for them…

I hope that the hereafter is calm place to live.  I hope that someplace between their last breath and the comfort zone they look around and over and through their life and think, “What was I so worried about?  So much of it was so little…but I treated it like it was everything!”

And then I hope they smile because they “get it.”

In the end, everything is a gag. ~Charlie Chaplin

I hope this is true for them…because if it is…then they aren’t scared or sad…but free.  And if any of this is true for them…then it will be true for us, too.  It seems to make life less serious…and death less awful.  At least I hope so…

Thanks, Denise. (I think it is…or something like it anyway.)

Death is definitely hard on the living. So hard to make sense of it.

Yeah I know Agnes. Can’t try too hard to make sense of it. The whole “acceptance” thing…
