An Anti-Sucking Prayer…
I would like to end this calendar year and begin the next with a short prayer. Join me, won’t you? Ahem:
Dear Universe/God/All That Is and What Not:
Please help me to stop being a Hoover…an energy sucker…and a black hole to those around me when I’m in a bad mood.
It has yet to improve any situation or bring about positive change, so if it’s all the same to You I’d like to shut off the switch with Your help.
Likewise…may the Hoover’s that enter my personal space have little to no effect on my mood when I’m feeling good.
Help me remember to be a duck and let their negative vibes roll off my back without incident. I think this is the root of forgiveness and a shortcut to better days.
I’ve chewed people a “new one” in both instances and walked away feeling like an ass. I’m pretty sure that’s You…talking to me. Maybe next time You can give me a little nudge before I become a vacuous energy sucker? I’d be much obliged, and I’ll watch for it.
I think that’s it. I appreciate Your help this past year. Let’s make the next one even better.
