Write Your Own Affirmations…

We LOVE quotes and affirmations, don’t we? Facebook and Twitter are dripping with them. I have a stockpile of sayings that I use for guidance and reassurance when I’m having a tough day…but I thought it might be interesting to come up with my own.
I hope I don’t lose reader’s because of some of these…but #2 below sort of prompted me to publish this list anyway. Some of it is tongue-in-cheek (or is it?)…but hey…maybe you’ll find one you want to print on T-shirt.
TS Quotes:
- Growing stronger f-ing hurts!
- I wonder what we’d become if we weren’t so damned scared all the time.
- Judgment is a monumental pain in the *ss.
- Sometimes pretty people are more fun to hang out with than ugly ones.
- Simply using Namaste does not make you more spiritual. (Namaste is a reverential term that means “I bow to you.”)
- Naked women are more fun to look at than naked men. (I’ve argued this before…and I stand by it.)
- Maybe the Universe is trying to tell you something when you order large fries but get small fries by mistake.
- There are a lot of people who wear their tragedy like a crown. To me it’s more like a baseball cap. (Most of us own a baseball cap.)
- If someone tells you they’re not judging you, you can pretty much bet they are.
- Faith walks right over hope on it’s way to making its acceptance speech.
- If a cameraman followed you around all day I’ll bet you’d have those Kirstie Alley moments too.
- Telling people what to do is a whole lot easier than telling them how to do it.
- Sometimes stereotypes are just observations.
- We are the hand of God.
- Being blessed and being lucky are very near the same thing. We think one is accidental…but I’m not so sure.
- The more I want…the more I suffer.
- Brick walls…pain…roadblocks and unexpected train wrecks are not about stopping us…but about creating us.
I suppose these aren’t actually “quote” worthy…but I think regular people have some pretty profound things to say…and we should start saying them. Not for fame…but to help ourselves move our feet in the direction of our dreams. I’d love to hear some original quotes from anyone that wants to share. Just think…you could change some lives because of it.
